Professions of Vows

Sisters Barbara Jean and Julian inaugurated Anamchara Fellowship with the Profession of their vows on June 18, 2003, in the chapel of Christ Church Christiana Hundred.

Brother Carl Gregory made the Profession of his Vows on January 27, 2006, on the transferred feast day of Gregory of Naziansus. Brother Carl's wife, Sandra, and his father, Frank, enjoyed celebrating this festive evening, along with Carl's congregation and the Fellowship.

At Sister Suzanne Elizabeth's Profession, on November 5, 2006, the Fellowship travelled to Virginia Beach, VA, to Suzanne's home parish of St. Francis. We had a great time playing, as witnessed by Sister Andrea's display of color from the Purple Cow milkshake. The highlight of that evening, and a surprise to all the Fellowship was a stretch limo which had been hired by one of Sister Suzanne's collegue from work, to take us all to the church for the festivities. Suzanne's rector, The Rev. James Anderson, and our own Anamchara, The Rev. Margaret Sterchi shared duties of celebrating at the Eucharist and the receiving of the vows.

Sister Cassandra Grace chose January 12, 2006 as her profession day, the Feast of Aelred of Rievaulx. Bishop George Councell received her vows, and her son-in-law, Rich Meagher, sang an awesome rendition of "Amazing Grace". But, grandbaby, Carter stole the show, waving to her "Namaw" all through the service.

Sister Sheila Brigid not only celebrated the Profession of her Vows on the Feast of Brigid of Kildare, but also on her own birthday, Feb 4, 2006. Her husband, Richard, sang "Panis Angelicus" by Cesar Franck at the time of Communion. Two of their three daughters was able to be present for the ceremony and a wonderful reception was put on by members of Sheila's parish, St. Thomas, in Newark, DE.

Sister Jacalyn Hild made her profession at her home parish of St. Thomas in Newark, DE in August 2007.  Her family came from Canada to be a part of festivities, including her great niece, Shannon Greco, who read a lesson at the service.  We include with these photos one of her Novice Clothing, simply because she had the priviledge of having Celtic author and speaker, J. Philip Newell, preach at that service... and we are still a bit in awe.

Sister Barbara Clare transferred into the Fellowship in 2007, and lived as a "Religious in Transition" for a year, as she became better acquainted with us and we with her.  She has a wicked sense of humor and has brought so much joy to our little community.  At the 2008 Gathering, (May 17) BC made her profession of vows as a full member of Anamchara Fellowship.
